COMRADES,
You are all aware that the AIPAEA, Chennai has issued
a notice for indefinite strike w.e.f. 02-06-2015, protesting the unlawful
actions of the G.M. (Finance), Postal Accounts, Chennai and to put an end to
the torture of two long years.
CHQ has immediately emailed letters to the Secretary
(Posts), Member (Finance) and DDG (PAF) urging urgent intervention.
NFPE, the mighty Federation has written a letter to
the Secretary (Posts) and urged the DG (Posts) to intervene and settle the
issues. CHQ has also has given a call to observe All India Protest Day on
25-05-2015.
General Secretary, AIPAEA rushed to New Delhi on the
night of 24th May 2015. General Secretary along with Com. Parashar,
Secretary General and Com. Giriraj Singh, President, NFPE met the Authorities
on 25th May 2015. G.S. stayed in the CHQ up to 28-05-2015 and further
negotiated with the Authorities. The settlement has come on 27-05-2015. DDG
(PAF) has issued a letter on the action taken to settle the Chennai issues. Order
is issued to pay pension immediately and in any case before 2nd June
2015. A fact-finding team has been deputed from Directorate to know the field
situation and to interact with the Circle Association. (Related correspondence
has already been published in our blog) The pension and other terminal benefits
of Com. Mahendran, has been released on 29-05-15. The other two comrades who
retired on 31-05-15 have also got their pension papers without any hassle.
I whole-heartedly acknowledge the concern shown by the
Secretary (Posts), DDG (PAF), Member (Finance), Telecom and all the officers of
the PA Wing. The swift, strong and positive intervention by the Secretary
(Posts) and DDG (PAF) has reinforced the faith of this Association on the
process of negotiations. Though some
more issues are still to be resolved, the CHQ has decided to defer the indefinite
strike.
The firm determination of the PAO Chennai comrades to
fight back the autocratic attitude of GM (Finance), Chennai with unity and full
faith in the collective strength has given the desired results. The role of the
AIPAEA in championing the cause of employees of the Postal Accounts without
fear or compromise has once again been established.
AIPAEA has been fully backed by Confederation of
Central Government Employees & Workers and National Federation of Postal
Employees. I on behalf of CHQ and employees of PAO Chennai whole-heartedly
thank the leaders of Confederation, NFPE, Tamilnadu. I convey my thanks to the
Secretary General, President and other leaders of NFPE. My sincere thanks and
gratitude to Com. Krishnan and Com. KKN for their advise. I thank all the
comrades of AIPAEA across the country for expressing solidarity with Chennai
comrades. All the leaders and members of AIPAEA, Chennai deserve kudos!
On the moment of crisis and difficulties, it is the
AIPAEA and only AIPAEA that stood the ground firmly and faced the challenge.
The Self-esteem and Self-respect of employees is important. Questioning and
fighting the injustice is the ingrained quality inherited from the legacy of
Audit and Accounts movement and NFPE. Let’s preserve it. Let’s strengthen it
and take AIPAEA to further heights.
