To

  Ms Kavery Banerjee,
 Secretary,
 Department of Posts
 Dak Bhawan,
 New Delhi-110 001

Sub:    Decentralization of Postal Accounts – regarding.

 Madam,

It has come to the notice of this Federation that Department of Post is going to decentralize the Postal Accounts. On several occasions in various meeting of JCM Departmental Council and strike charter of demands, it has been assured by the Postal Board that before going to any structural change in the organization, it will be discussed with staff side and then it will be implemented.

As per proposal of the Department the staff from Postal Accounts Offices will be deployed as checker at field level. But it has not been considered seriously that if checker and maker both are at one place may create so many problems and complications.

It is also worth mentioning here that in the year 1987 when technology was being inducted at initial stage than this experiment was done but it was not successful and it was withdrawn.

After knowing about this decision the staff of Postal Accounts offices is very much agitated and they have given call to observe the protest day on 10.07.2015 to bring their agitated feelings in your kind notice.

It is therefore requested to kindly convene a meeting of staff side on this issue and after through discussion and arriving on any conclusion with the consent of staff side any new change should be implemented. We oppose any kind of decentralization in Postal Accounts.

Hoping for a positive response from you.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully
