COUNTING OF BROKEN SPELLS FOR INCREMENT FOR ADHOC PROMOTION
COMRADES, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION GIVEN BY THE DOP&T REGARDING COUNTING OF BROKEN SPELLS FOR GRANT OF INCREMENT IN THE HIGHER POST ON ADHOC PROMOTION. PRESENTLY NO PAO IS ALLOWING INCREMENT WHEN SENIOR ACCOUNTANT IS PROMOTED TO AAO ON ADHOC BASIS ON THE GROUND THAT THEY ARE NOT COMPLETING 6MONTHS CONTINUOUS SPELL ON THE 1ST OF JULY. THIS MATTER HAS ALSO BEEN TAKEN UP BY AIPAEA IN THE DEPARTMENTAL COUNCIL (JCM). WITH THIS CLARIFICATION ALL OFFICIATING AAOS WILL GET THE INCREMENT IN THE HIGHER POST BY COUNTING THE BROKEN SPELLS.

CLARIFICATIONS ISSUED BY THE C&AG ON 4-ADVANCE INCREMENTS
COMRADES,
ON THE ISSUE OF IMPLEMENTATION OF 4-ADVANCE INCREMENTS MANY PAOs HAS COMMENCED THE WORK. BANGALORE PAO HAS ALREADY PAID THE ARREARS. HYDERABAD PAO IS GOING TO PAY THE ARREARS SHORTLY. IN OTHER PAOs THE WORK IS UNDER PROGRESS. BUT THERE ARE SOME PAOs WHICH STILL HAVE SOME DOUBTS ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ORDER. MAJOR DOUBT IS WHETHER THE DEPARTMENTAL EXAM PASSED LDCs ARE ELIGIBLE TO GET THE 4-ADVANCE INCREMENTS. CAG HAS CLARIFIED THIS AND THE PROMOTEE LDCs TOO GOT THE BENEFIT ALONG WITH DIRECT RECRUITS WHO PASSED THE CONFIRMATION EXAM. THIS IS SETTLED ISSUE. I HAVE ATTACHED ALL THE CLARIFICATIONS ISSUED BY THE CAG ON THIS SUBJECT. THE RELEVANT CLARIFICATION ON THE SPECIFIC ISSUE OF LDCs IS THE LETTER DATED 17-01-2012. PLEASE REFER THAT LETTER AND REQUEST THE AUTHORITIES TO IMMEDIATELY IMPLEMENT THE ORDER WITHOUT ANY FURTHER REFERENCE TO DIRECTORATE.

Now, shop while you stop to post
STAFF REPORTER, The HINDU
Harrowing visits to the post office without proper stationery promises to be a smoother affair now. On Tuesday, the Bangalore General Post Office launched ‘Post Shoppe’- a new service in the Karnataka circle where India Post customers can shop for stationery, greeting cards, mugs, small knick-knacks and books besides availing themselves of postal services.
The pilot project at the GPO, which will be extended to other centres depending on the demand , is a first of its kind in the country. The project, run by the postal department and their staff, is part of the diversification on part of India Post to keep itself relevant The service was inaugurated by Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar, who backed the efficacy and the reliability of India Post’s services. “In the case of many private courier services, we have seen pilferage and tampering. Which is why, India Post remains the credible alternative ,” he said.
Ashutosh Kumar Hanjura, Chief Postmaster, Bangalore GPO, said that India Post was one government institution that has laterally expanded and diversified to keep pace with technology. “We have address verification as a service, we have been selling mutual funds for major companies such as SBI, Reliance, UTI, among others, and were even selling gold here .”
Arundhathy Ghosh, Postmaster General, South Kanara region, said apart from simple stationery, attempts had been made to provide “quirky products”.

THE SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE AND FREEDOM - NELSON MANDELA NO MORE - AIPAEA PAYS ITS HOMAGE TO THIS GREAT SON OF AFRICA
"During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die."
